Suncoast Arts Fest High School Internship Guidelines
Application Instructions:
Fill out the following form completely and submit by Saturday, December 15, 2019. For further information, email kclbroker@yahoo.com.
- Students must be a high school senior in Pasco County with the intent to pursue a career in art
- Attend orientation meetings with the event coordinator.
- Attend the 2019 Suncoast Arts Fest on January 19-20, 2019.
- Good academic standing and good behavior in school.
- Gain service-learning experience that can be referenced on a college application or job resume.
- Receive a letter of recommendation at the completion of the internship by the event coordinator.
- Receive a Certificate of Completion presented on the Suncoast Arts Fest stage.
- Minimum of 20 hours community service.
- Learn about art-related careers and gain access to valuable resources and mentors.
Interns will be given service-learning experience in art education. This team will develop art-making opportunities for children from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. We will gather resources and materials, organize volunteers, and facilitate the Art Garden activities on the weekend of the event.
Interns will be given service-learning experience in the areas of project management. Students will brainstorm possible local community partners, assist with event layout, communication and management.
Interns will be given service-learning experience in the area of visual art and will assist the Emerging Artist coordinator with the creation of a catalog of submitted artwork for display at the Suncoast Arts Fest. They will assist with exhibit set-up on Friday evening and Saturday morning. They will greet visitors and be scheduled in shifts to watch over the artwork at the Emerging Artist exhibit. On Sunday evening they will assist with taking down and packing the artwork for return to the submitting schools.
